On August 29, hundreds of museums, collections, memorial houses, artisans’ workshops, and other spaces dedicated to rural heritage will open their doors for the fourth edition of Rural Museums Night.

For one evening, dozens of villages across Romania and the Republic of Moldova will become places to discover and connect with local heritage through exhibitions, guided tours, workshops, craft demonstrations, children’s activities, concerts, screenings, and encounters with the people who keep their communities’ stories and traditions alive.

Now in its fourth edition, Rural Museums Night is Romania’s largest platform dedicated to promoting rural cultural heritage. In 2025, more than 140 cultural venues took part, turning the last Saturday of August into a true celebration of village life and local heritage.
