Double Celebration: 🇷🇴 1 year since the launch of the Attractive Romania program and 🌺 National Peony Day
Today, May 15th, is a special day for us: it marks 1 year since the Attractive Romania program came to life. We also celebrate National Peony Day – the peony being both Romania’s national flower and a symbol of our cultural tourism program.
It has been a year full of legendary journeys to hidden treasures: mysterious castles, forgotten fortresses, ancient churches and monasteries, soulful villages, rich gastronomy, and breathtaking landscapes. A year in which we’ve rediscovered who we are, what we have, and how important it is to preserve it — because Romania blossoms when its heritage is alive.
Thank you for being part of this journey and for already exploring the country in search of stories and sites that, through their cultural richness, deserve to be seen in a new light: 275 hidden gems, lesser-known yet surprising—just like the magnificent Romanian peony.
Milestones That Bring Us Joy After the First Year of Romania Attractivă

- 6,000+ custom travel lists created by users through the “My Route” feature;
- 12.4 million total reach on social media (official Facebook, Instagram, TikTok pages);
- 350+ cultural events featured on the platform;
- Most foreign users are from Germany, Hungary, Italy, and France;
- Among Romanian users, the majority come from Bucharest and the counties of Cluj, Timiș, Brașov, Iași, Prahova, Constanța, Bihor, and Sibiu.

Among the top 10 most visited landmarks on the platform are six castles: Corvin Castle, Apafi Castle, Teleki Castle, Beldy Ladislau Castle in Budila, Ion Ghica Manor and Ugron Castle and four attractions from the Traditional Romanian Gastronomy Route: Flavors and Tastes of Dobrogea, Aninoasa – Gastronomic Traditions of Argeș, Delicacies of Hunedoara and The Hercynian Kitchen.
