Welcome!
We invite you to the next TravelArte event – "Winter Stories in the Culinary Barn in Şomartin", an evening where simple traditions, soulful food and the atmosphere of Christmas from yesteryear come together in a carefully restored space in the heart of Transylvania.
We will gather directly in the barn, where the warm light, the fire in the stove and the natural details will create the setting for a quiet December evening.
A collection of winter photographs signed by Jeno Major will be exhibited in the space, which authentically capture the peace and beauty of Transylvania in the cold season.
Dinner will be prepared by Oana, our host at Şomartin 65, who has built a menu inspired by Elise Fröhlich's Transylvanian cookbook (1897), old recipes, reinterpreted with simplicity and care. The dishes will be accompanied by hot punch and the festive atmosphere of winter.
In the middle of the evening we will decorate the tree together, with natural decorations, a quiet gesture, just like in the houses of the past.
We then end the evening with the taste of childhood, through a chocolate tasting made in the house by Oana, with a lot of passion.
The details will be completed with artisanal accents, candles and a decoration designed to recreate the spirit of an authentic Transylvanian Christmas.

– Places are limited. Registration is confirmed only after full payment in advance.
