In the last weekend when the border with the Republic of Serbia is still open for cycling on the bike path on the banks of the Bega River, the Town Hall of Otelec Municipality in collaboration with the My Banat Association invites the people of Timisoara to a new Picnic in the Banat Forest!
On Sunday, September 22, between 12:00 and 18:00, on the banks of Begăi you will enjoy good music with Horea Crișovan, you will be able to admire the vessels anchored in the port of Otelec from the Timișoara Regatta and you will have the opportunity to participate in various activities: riverside hikes or bike rides, wooden spoon carving workshop with Manuela and Cezar Blînda from LUN Design, Iohanisfeld, guided tours through the village with Mr. Geza Molnar, or face painting.
But above all, you will be able to enjoy local dishes and traditional products. Along with the platters of lard spread on Foeni pita - offered by the organizers to all those present - special guests this year are the members of the Women's Association "Zoruca 1333" from Sărcia, Serbia, who will have the tasty plescavița for sale.
Local producers from the community will also be at the same booths preparing kurtos kolacs, pigeon soup with homemade noodles, saramales in vine leaves, duck on sweet cabbage, apple and pumpkin pies, curdled milk and more.
A small market of local producers will give you the opportunity to buy fruit, cheese, jams and vegetables from the harvest of the villagers.
